Fareed Ameen
Founder & Principal

Fareed brings over 35 years of experience to the decisions that matter most — M&A, capital structuring, distressed situations and strategic counsel. He has operated at principal level throughout his career across investment banking, fund management and independent advisory: at Citi, where he ran debt origination for the Middle East and North Africa; at Citigroup Venture Capital; at the merchant bank Gramercy Communications; at the credit and convertible-arbitrage fund CQS; and at the European advisory and asset-management group Catella. His work has spanned the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas, with debt and equity transactions closed in more than 40 countries.

At CQS he built and led a 30-person global research team and a special-situations portfolio he ran personally. The book compounded at roughly 35% in the years before the global financial crisis and, after taking its losses through the downturn, still delivered an 18% IRR across the full cycle. That same analytical rigour and forensic detail define how Anglesol works today: independent, unconflicted, uncorrelated to market consensus, and at all times grounded in research and reasoning.

About

A practice built around judgement

Anglesol is an independent consulting practice. It exists to give boards, owners and management teams a senior, unconflicted perspective at the moments that carry the most consequence — a sale, an acquisition, a restructuring, a question of capital or control.

The model is deliberately small. Every engagement is led by a principal from first conversation to close — no product agendas, no financing arms, no junior hand-offs. What clients buy is judgement: more than three decades of it, earned across investment banking, fund management and advisory, and applied with discretion to situations where the details decide the outcome.
